Kodagu flood victims collect essentials from Relief Centre at Town Hall in city

Mysuru:  The Flood Relief Collection Centre set up by the District Administration and Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) at Town Hall premises here has been a beehive activity for the last couple of days.

Two lorry loads of vessels, bed sheets, dresses, food items, packaged water and medicines were sent from the centre to the flood victims in Kodagu yesterday. Management of Reid and Taylor in Nanjangud handed over 400 pairs of trousers with shirts this morning to be sent to the flood victims. A good quality of rice and blankets too have been received.

Members of three families affected by flood arrived in city yesterday and collected the relief items after authenticating their identities.

Giving the details to Star of Mysore, MCC Health Officer Dr. D.G. Nagaraj said that the relief items was being handed over to flood victims after proper scrutiny to ensure no misuse.
