Kodagu youth drowns in Lake at Bengaluru

Gonikoppal: Koluvanda Ponnanna (31), son of former President of Gonikoppal Lions School Koluvanda Subramani, was drowned in a lake near Magadi in Bengaluru yesterday.

Yesterday being a holiday, Ponnanna, who was working at a private firm in Bengaluru, had gone to the lake on a trip and ventured into the water and was swimming, when his legs got tangled in a fishing net resulting in him drowning in the lake,   it is learnt.

Later, his body was fished out from the lake and was sent for post-mortem to a private hospital near Kengeri. His body was later handed over to his  family members.

The last rites of Ponnanna were performed at Ponnampet in Kodagu this morning, according to family sources. Magadi Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
