Kodava Samaja to celebrate Puthari on Nov. 20

Kodava Samaja, Mysuru, will celebrate Puthari Namme (harvest festival) on Nov.20 (Saturday). As usual, the celebrations will  commence at 5 pm in the premises of Sree Cauvery Educational Institutions in Kuvempunagar.  All traditional dances of Kodavas will be performed on the occasion.

Kadh (new paddy crop) will be distributed to all members by the Samaja  volunteers on that day.  As a prelude to Puthari Namme,  a three-day Eedu will be held on Nov.16, 17 and 18 at the Samaja premises in Vijayanagar from 6 pm onwards. All cultural dances will be performed during Eedu, according to a press release from Malachira M. Ponnappa, Honorary Secretary, Kodava Samaja.
