A few days ago, one of my friends suddenly realised that she couldn’t find her mobile phone. As usual, the opinion was that if it was left behind in the autorickshaw, she wasn’t going to find it or get it back. So she went to block the number with the service provider.

In the meantime, we tried calling her number and the phone was switched off. Sometime later I received a message saying this number was ready to receive calls. I called immediately and a gentleman received the call. He was the driver of the auto she had travelled in. He was concerned that someone had dropped the phone in the auto and he didn’t know whose it was. After the identity was established, he said he would come to Vijayanagar from JP Nagar and return it. All he wanted in exchange was the auto fare.

Auto driver Madhu brought the mobile soon after and returned it to the owner. Such people and actions reinforce faith in a society where trust is almost absent today. Thanks Madhu !
