Mysuru: To celebrate Kukkarahalli Lake’s ecology, heritage and biodiversity, a two-day Kukkarahalli Lake Festival — Kukkarahalli Kere Habba – Protecting Wetlands for our Common Future — has been organised at the Pavilion inside Kukkarahalli Lake (Railway Gate entrance) on June 27 and 28.
The Lake Festival, featuring Exhibition, Bird Watch and Tree Watch activities, will be held in morning and evening sessions — 6.30 am to 9.30 am and 4 pm to 6 pm.

Lingambudhi Lake
To introduce nature’s beauty and serenity of Lingambudhi Lake, located between Lingambudhipalya, Srirampura, Ramakrishnanagar and Dattagalli localities to a vast population, the Forest Department, in association with Spandana Rameshwar Art Gallery, Mysuru and Inidani Manna Makkala Honna Padagala Balaga, Mysuru, has organised ‘Lingambudhi Kere Prakruti Jagruti Habba’ (Lingambudhi Lake Festival) on June 28.
As part of the event, a Photography contest on Lingambudhi Biodiversity has been organised from 6 am to 9 am .
Subsequently, the Festival will be inaugurated in the lake premises at 10 am followed by a lecture session.
Later, a forest and environment watch activity will be held from 12 noon to 1.30 pm, following which a tour on Lingambudhi Lake’s biodiversity will take place from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm. The valedictory of the event will be held at 5 pm.
