KUWJ appeals CM for announcing package for Journalists

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ), Bengaluru, has appealed the Chief Minister to announce a financial package to journalists who are facing economic problems due to COVID -19 crisis.

A KUWJ delegation led by its President Shivanand Thagadur met CM B.S.Yediyurappa in the State capital on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum containing the charter of demands, which chiefly included announcement of Rs.10,000 financial assistance to all COVID crisis hit journalists, payment of Rs.5 lakh as compensation to the families of COVID dead scribes and vaccination of all scribes and their family members, Newspaper Agents and Distributors, Cable Operators etc., on priority. 

Receiving the memorandum, the CM promised to look into the demands.
