Mandya: A day after an audio in which former JD(S)  MP L.R. Shivaramegowda had made insulting remarks against late former MP G. Madegowda went viral, the JD(S) on Monday expelled L.R. Shivaramegowda from the primary membership of the party.

Soon after the audio went viral, there were widespread protests against Shivaramegowda all across Mandya district yesterday.

As the outrage began to spill over onto the streets, former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy (HDK) directed JD(S) State Unit Chief H.K. Kumaraswamy to expel Shivaramegowda, following which the outspoken former MP was ousted from the JD(S).
