Nanjangud:  Members of Nayana Kshatriya Samudaya  celebrated the last karthika somavara in a grand manner by holding pallakki utsava and bursting of firecrackers in the premises of Lord Srikanteshwaraswamy temple here on Monday last.  

MLA B. Harshavardhan inaugurated the celebrations.   District President of Nayana Kshatriya Samudaya N.R. Nagesh and  Secretary Srinivas said that the people of the community had been celebrating this festival on every fourth Monday of  karthika masa since many years, as part of the tradition.

They expressed gratitude to the management of Srikanteshwara Temple, local administration, elected representatives and the Deputy Commissioner for helping the members of the community to keep this tradition alive.

Temple Management President Puttarangashetty, Officer Kumaraswamy,  Gangaiah, office-bearers of Nayana Kshatriya Samudaya R. Krishnamurthy, Vishakanta, Chandrashekar,  Krishnamraju, N.C. Rajanna and others were present.
