A special bulletin on COVID-19

Mysore/Mysuru: JSS Medical College, a constituent college of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, has contributed to a great extent in all the areas of Coronavirus response-related events like academics, research and patient care.

In this regard, a special bulletin was documented and compiled to reveal the way the Institution, the administrators, health care professionals and alumni of the organisation have contributed in various ways during this battle.

This special illustration book was released by Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji and the leaders of JSS AHER. Initially, JSS Medical College Principal Dr. H. Basavanagowdappa gave the background of activities and services and how documenting their efforts is a one-time event in history that will motivate future generations to come.

Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji invited his leadership team to symbolically e-launch this Special Bulletin on COVID-19 ‘Amidst the Crisis’ and wholeheartedly appreciated the efforts of everyone and encouraged them to do more of such activities to serve the humanity.

“This is a memorable document to rejoice the positive outcomes of pandemic and unfold the potential capabilities of the institution to face such challenges. We acknowledge and compliment the committed service rendered by all our colleagues, HODs, COVID-task force, and alumni across the world. We appreciate the selfless service offered by all the core clinical departments, nursing and supporting staff,” said a press release from the Institution.

Neuro-anatomy made easy through digital content for distance learning: 

Digital content to make learning easy for medical students, prepared by Dr. C.S. Vidya, Professor of Anatomy on Neuroanatomy, was launched through YouTube by JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath.

QS I-GAUGE E-LEAD Certification:

QS International rating and the ranking agency has certified JSS AHER for e-learning excellence, academic digitalisation with a score of 150/150 validating that JSS AHER is a fully equipped leader in the e-learning platform. This award was presented virtually.

Dr. Renu Bhatra, former Additional Secretary, University Grants Commission (UGC), was the chief guest and Dr. Krishna Ella, Chairman and Managing Director, Bharat Biotech International Limited, was the guest of honour during the virtual award ceremony.

IJHAS Special issue on COVID-19:

The International Journal of Health and Allied Sciences (IJHAS), an official publication of JSS AHER, has published a special issue on COVID-19. The health care professionals, chemists, biologists, social scientists, economists, policy makers, funding agencies and the industry are all working towards fighting the Corona pandemic and it is important that more of science needs to be published to feed the right information to the media and public. This special issue is an attempt in this direction and maybe of value to several thousands of health professionals who are presently engaged in the fight against Coronavirus.

Dr. H. Basavanagowdappa, Principal of JSS Medical College, gave the background of activities and services. Pro-Chancellor of JSS AHER Dr. B. Suresh appreciated how everyone stood for the case during this unprecedented pandemic.

Executive Secretary of JSS Mahavidyapeetha Dr. C.G. Betsurmath conveyed his gratitude to all the COVID warriors and the leaders in motivating the healthcare workers to contribute to this cause. Vice-Chancellor of JSS AHER Dr. Surinder Singh proposed a vote of thanks.
