More grants utilised to maintain green cover of Gangothri: VC

Mysore/Mysuru: District Minister S.T. Somashekar planted saplings near Library building in Manasagangothri premises as part of World Environment Day celebrations organised by University of Mysore (UoM). Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar, MLC Sandesh Nagaraj, MCC Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde and others were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Hemantha Kumar apprised the Minister saying: “We have plans to plant 10,000 red sanders saplings at Manasagangothri campus. If we plant red sanders it would be a good resource to the University in future. To maintain green cover in Gangothri campus and to conserve environment, we have been utilising more grants and also working on the same.”
