Leaders pay tribute on Mahaparinirvana Diwas

Mysuru: Glowing tributes were paid to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in city on Dec.6 on the occasion of his 63rd death anniversary, observed as ‘Mahaparinirvana Diwas.’

Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar, City Police Commissioner K.T. Balakrishna, DCP M. Mutturaj and a number of other Congress leaders including former MLA M.K. Somashekar garlanded the marble statue of the leader at the Town Hall premises.

Many Congress leaders, including former Mayors Modamani, T.B. Chikkanna, Pushpalatha Chikkanna, Mysuru City Congress President R. Murthy, District President Dr. B.J. Vijayakumar, former MP R. Dhruvanarayan, Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath and Susheela Keshavamurthy, garlanded the portrait of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Congress  Bhavan near the City Railway Station.
