Leopard kills buffalo at Siddanahundi

January 24, 2023

Mysuru: Even as an operation is launched to trace the leopard that has created a havoc in parts of T. Narasipur taluk, the leopard has continued to stray into villages nearby.

The leopard attacked and killed a buffalo belonging to Rathnamma at Siddanahundi on Monday night. The carcass of the partially devoured buffalo was found at an agricultural field this morning.

Before that, the leopard was spotted at Kaggalipura village and the anxious villagers armed with clubs and sickles and Forest personnel with darter gun combed the area for the feline in pitch dark, but to no avail.

  1. Bakthara Baktha says:

As long as it does not kill humans, its a good sign. Govt should change policy. If a Tiger/Leopard attacks cow, buffalo, goat or other farmed animals then govt compensates the victims. Thereby endangered wild animals are not harmed.
