Villagers urge Forest Officials to trap the feline soon

Hunsur: A leopard, spotted at Ramapattana village in the taluk frequently, is killing cattle and though the Forest officials have placed a cage to trap the leopard about 10 days back, the feline has not been trapped and is playing hide and seek with the Forest officials.

Following complaints from the villagers that the leopard was spotted along with four cubs near the village, the Forest Department staff placed a cage in the agriculture field of one Thimmegowda 10 days ago. As the leopard has not been trapped, villagers are now afraid to go out of their house and even people are unable to take out their cattle for grazing fearing leopard attack.

The villagers have urged the Forest Department officials to take steps to trap the leopard and the cubs at the earliest and relocate them.
