Mysuru:  Marking the launch of ‘Sparsh Leprosy Awareness campaign -2019’ to go on till Feb.13, District Administration and District Leprosy Eradication Cell had organised an awareness rally in city yesterday morning.

About 100 medical and nursing students took out the rally from DHO’s office in Nazarbad passing through SP Office Circle and returning to the starting point.

The rallyists carried placards with good awareness messages on leprosy highlighting that the disease is curable and should not be considered a social stigma.

District Surgeon Dr. Pashupati flagged off the rally. District Vector-Borne Diseases Control Officer Dr. Chidambara, District Leprosy Control Officer Dr. M.S. Manju Prasad, District Cholera Control Officer Dr. Umesh, District family Welfare Officer Dr. Siraj Ahmed and others were present.
