Let Hardinge Circle be renamed as Jayachamarajendra Circle

June 3, 2017

Sir,

Now, the Statue of Sri Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar is installed in Hardinge Circle, it is befitting to rename it as ‘Jayachamarajendra Circle’ so as to perpetuate the memory of the late Maharaja, who was a towering personality, dignity personified, a scholar and a great patron of art and music. Sadly, he died young.

All the three Statues of these benevolent rulers of the past of the erstwhile Mysore State, being collinear, have become prominent landmarks of Mysuru reminding their good governance and concern to their subjects.

The authorities concerned may please take the above suggestion positively and act for its early implementation.
