Mysore/Mysuru: The Karnataka High Court (HC) yesterday granted conditional bail to four accused in the attempt to murder cases on Narasimharaja (NR) Constituency MLA Tanveer Sait.
The accused who were granted bail are Noor Khan, Akram, Syed Muheeb and Abdulla Baig. Single Bench Judge K.S. Mudgal, who heard the bail pleas, granted them conditional bail. The accused had earlier filed bail petitions at City’s JMFC Court and the same was rejected.
It may be recalled that on the night of Nov. 17, 2019, Tanveer Sait was attacked with a cleaver at the wedding reception in Bannimantap Grounds and the profusely bleeding Sait was rushed to a private hospital in city where he underwent surgeries for the injuries caused by the murderous attack. The public had caught the attacker and had beaten him black and blue before handing him over to the Police.
Special Police teams were formed to nab others involved in the lethal attack and were arrested after a few days. The accused were subjected to interrogation and the Police had filed the charge-sheet against them.
After being discharged from the city hospital, Sait had left for Bengaluru for rest and had come to city a few months ago to identify the accused in Mysuru Jail. Sait left for Bengaluru soon after the identification parade process was completed and is still under rest in Bengaluru.
