April 14, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: Vid. M.G. Raghunath presented a light classical music concert at the Dixit Arogya Dhama in Vijayanagar recently as part of its monthly Arogya Ananda programme.

Vidu. Shruti and Vid. Vikram Bharadwaj accompanied him on violin and mridanga respectively.

Dr. Anil Kumar, Director of Dixit Arogya Dhama, spoke on the medicinal benefits of Bilwa Patra plant, the leaves of which are considered very auspicious in the worship of Lord Shiva.

“Different parts of Bilwa tree are used in medicinal preparations in Ayurveda for its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. Trees and plants with medicinal properties have been mentioned as sacred by our ancestors in a bid to save them from being destroyed,” he said.
