Lioness Rakshitha in Mysuru Zoo undergoes surgery

Mysuru: Rakshitha, a 15–year-old Lioness was operated for severe uterine infection at Mysuru Zoo recently. The Zoo Veterinary team identified the problem immediately and conducted the operation.

In a press release, Zoo Executive Director Ajith Kulkarni stated that the animal is recuperating and is under post-operative care with close veterinary care..

The surgery was conducted on Mar.16 and her ovary was removed. The Zoo currently has two pairs of lions.
