Loaders demand higher wages

June 18, 2019

Mysuru: Over 100 members of Karnataka State Loading and Unloading Workers Association took out a protest rally from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple here to the DC’s office this morning where a dharna was staged.

The workers alleged that the wages offered to them were the lowest. They pointed out that they were still paid Rs.14 per Quintal when the amount has been increased to Rs.16 with effect from November 2018.

They urged the Government to arrange to pay Rs.16 with retrospective effect from November 2018. They added that the contractor was not remitting the ESI and PF amount to the corresponding accounts.
