Lorry driver swindled over petty duel in city

Mysore/Mysuru: A 30-year-old lorry driver from Belagavi was swindled of Rs. 1,300 by six to seven people, behind Sankalp Apartment, Yadavagiri in city yesterday.

Patrappa, who hails from Saundatti in Belagavi district, was driving his lorry, which allegedly brushed past an autorickshaw near Shubodini Convention Hall, near Hebbal Outer Ring Road (ORR) junction, at around 9 pm. Both the drivers entered into a wordy duel and manhandled each other, during which both sustained bruises. Later, the two decided to go to the Police and auto driver, agreed to take Patrappa to the Police, in his autorickshaw. As the auto was passing near Sankalp Apartment, the auto driver called some of his friends over phone to join him. His friends, who came, allegedly forced Patrappa to pay for the treatment of the fellow auto driver and swindled Rs. 1,300 from the latter, before fleeing from the spot.

Hebbal Police have registered a case and are tracing the suspects.
