October 28, 2025

Hunsur: A woman, who had sustained severe burns along with her husband following LPG leakage about six days back and admitted to a private hospital in Mysuru, has succumbed to burn injuries at the hospital while her husband is undergoing treatment in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The deceased is Shobha (42), wife of Kittur Primary Health Centre (PHC) Senior Health Inspector Kumar, a resident of Veeranjaneya Layout in the town.

On Oct. 23, when Shobha was cooking, a fire broke out following LPG leakage resulting in fire engulfing the house and Shobha sustaining severe burns. Shobha’s husband, who rushed to her help, also sustained burn injuries. Due to the intensity of the fire, the walls of the house have developed cracks.

Both were admitted to a private hospital in Mysuru where Shobha succumbed to burn injuries yesterday while Kumar is undergoing treatment in an ICU.
