L&T develops school infrastructure

Mysuru: Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Mysuru Campus, had organised a function to inaugurate the school infrastructure it had developed under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative at Government High School in Udbur recently.

Dr. Dharanidevi Malagatti, Principal of Police Training School, Mysuru and Amit Kumar, Business Unit Head, Metering & Protection Systems, L&T, Mysuru Campus, jointly inaugurated the function.

In her address, Dr. Dharanidevi lauded the CSR projects taken up by L&T to improve the education at rural areas and added that industries were doing true service by implementing CSR.

She expressed her happiness over the development of Science Labs and installation of RO drinking water unit at schools and called upon the students to make use of the facilities and also maintain it for other students.

Amit Kumar, who also spoke, asked the students to come forward in life besides stating that L&T was ready to serve the society with high spirit and called upon the students to make use of the facility.

During the year 2018-19, L&T has developed six Government Schools at Udbur, Hanchya, Huyilalu, Pillahalli, Hale Kamanakoppal and Hosa Kamanakoppal and 10 Anganwadi Centres in Mysuru rural engaging Mykaps as implementing partner. Major activities taken up were construction of class rooms, setting up of Science Laboratory, inter-lock paver blocks, levelling of school playground, construction of compound and toilets, painting the walls with science models and installing RO drinking water units.

On the occasion, School Infrastructure at Udbur, Pillahalli, Hanchya and Huyilalu were officially handed over to the school administration.

Nagaraja, Executive Director of Mykaps William D’Souza, ZP Member Premakumari Mahadevaswamy, Udbur GP President Jayamma, Udbur Government High School Head Mistress H. Umadevi,  teachers Sanjay and Vasudeva Murthy and others were present.
