M.N. Krishna Rao Memorial Open Chess Tournament-2017: Augustin Triumphs

Augustin of Kodagu with 8 points and with a better tie-break score of 51.5, tied with four-other players Aravind Shastry (8-49), H.A. Amogha (8-47.5), N. Sanjay (8-47) and GM M.S. Thejkumar (8-46), but with a better-tie-break score won the title (cash prize of Rs.16,000 and a trophy) in M.N. Krishna Rao Memorial Open Rapid Chess Tournament-2017, conducted by the Mysore Chess Centre at Dasaprakash Paradise Hall here on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The prizes to the winners were given away by Lalithamma Krishna Rao, K. Prabhakar, K. Ramesh, K. Somnath and Vishwanath Das of Hotel Dasprakash Paradise.
