Madiga community to hold massive protest in city

Mysuru: Madiga community will hold a massive protest in Mysuru on Oct. 10 demanding the Government to announce reservation for the development of the community. The protesters have planned to lay siege on CM Siddharamaiah’s residence, said Zilla Madiga Meesalati Horata Samiti President Basavanapura Rajashekar.

Speaking at a meeting of Samiti office-bearers at Chamarajanagar, he said that the community which has around three lakh population in the State, has been fighting for inner reservations for the past 20 years and has not got any positive results so far.

The community has not received any political reservation and has also not grown economically. Members of the community from Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar will assemble in large numbers go on a protest rally before laying a siege on CM’s residence.

Samiti Gen. Secretary Shivakumar, Organising Secretary M. Raju, Vice-President Rangaswamy and others were present.
