Madiwalas stage demo demanding SC tag

Mysuru: Urging the State Government to recommend the Centre for inclusion of Madiwalas in Scheduled Caste (SC) list, over a hundred Madiwala community members under the banner of Mysuru Taluk Veera Madiwalara Sangha held a demonstration in front of Mini Vidhana Soudha here yesterday.

Earlier, they marched in a procession from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at the North Gate of the Palace passing through Sri Harsha Road, B.N. Road and Sub-Urban Bus Stand to reach the Mini Vidhana Soudha, where they presented a memorandum to the Tahsildar.

Sangha office-bearers Duddagere Shivanna, Somanna, Jayaram, Raju Alanahalli, Siddappaji and others took part.
