Joint efforts

Speaking on the occasion, Javagal Srinath, a native of Mysuru, lauding the efforts of Mysore Warriors and its owner Arjun Ranga, expressed the need of a joint effort along with academies for development of cricket in Karnataka.

“We are keen on taking forward cricket in a clean and right path. It is important for the cricketers to know about their etiquettes. The Maharaja Trophy is being organised on IPL mode, using latest technology. Just because of the presence of television cameras, cricketers must not show unacceptable behavior, rather confine themselves to display their talent,” he added.

Focus on skills

Srinath advised the cricketers not to concentrate only on playing for Maharaja Trophy or IPL, but also focus on improving their skills to play all formats of cricket.

“Talent is not restricted to one city, as it can be found anywhere. Cricket in Mysuru is poised for a lot of progress in the future. Apart from SJCE ground, matches will also be played at Infosys ground in Hebbal. This apart, indoor facilities will also provided in the future,” he added.

Bright future

Speaking on the occasion, Cycle Pure Agarbathi MD and Mysore Warriors Owner Arjun Ranga said this year’s team reflects the bright future of Karnataka cricket.

“The hunger to win is evident among the young players and we are incredibly proud to provide a prominent platform for talents, who have consistently performed at the rural level,” he added.

This year, Mysore Warriors franchise is joining hands with Usha Kiran Eye Hospital and ASL T20 Cricket Association to raise awareness about the health of eyes and to support and empower differently-abled athletes.

Tournament

The tournament will commence in Mysuru on June 20 at SDNR Wadiyar Stadium before moving to Hubballi and Bengaluru. This year, Mysore Warriors will start their campaign against Shivamogga Yodhas on June 20 at SDNR Wadiyar Stadium in Manasagangothri at 7 pm.
