Make all necessary arrangements for Panchalinga Darshana Mahotsava: MLA Ashwin Kumar

T. Narasipur: As a prelude to the Panchalinga Darshana to be held at Talakad in the month of December this year, a preliminary meeting was held by MLA M. Ashwin Kumar at Shiva Parvathi Kalyana Mantap in Talakad, T. Narasipur taluk recently.

Ashwin Kumar, who presided over the preliminary meeting, instructed officials to make all necessary arrangements and prepare well for the event beforehand. 

Devotees will descend on Talakad for the 10-day Panchalinga Darshana Mahotsava, which will be held from Dec. 14, 2020.

“About 25 to 30 lakh devotees will be visiting Talakad for the 13th Panchalinga Darshana Mahotsava, which is being held after 7 years. Make elaborate arrangements for the event. I will speak to Government authorities to release necessary funds for the same,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G. Sankar said, “We have 11 months to prepare for the event. While taking up any development works, we should aim for its long-term sustainability. The officials should start working to put all necessary facilities in place including drinking water, temporary toilets and other basic facilities.”

The DC also instructed officials to start constructing service road from Madhava Mantri Dam to Arkeshwara Temple as well as make arrangements to provide bus facilities for devotees.

Meanwhile, villagers who participated in the meeting requested officials to aim for long-term sustainability of development works which will be taken up for the event including                                           construction of bathing ghats on the river bank, toilets and other facilities.
