Man arrested for poaching Monitor Lizard

Mysuru: The Forest Mobile Squad (FMS) has arrested a person on charges of poaching two Monitor Lizards and trying to sell the same.

The arrested person has been identified as 21-year-old Mahesh, son of Gopalanaika and a resident of Tagadur village in Nanjangud taluk.

The accused had poached two Monitor Lizards from the forests and the public had informed the issue to the FMS personnel, who raided the spot and arrested the accused along with the Monitor Lizards. Forest Mobile Squad SI Harish and staff U.B. Ramesh, Venkatachalaiah, Raghu, Narasimhamurthy, Manjunath, Cheluvaraju and driver Pradeep took part in the operation.
