Brutal murder leaves innocent kids aged five and three years orphaned in H.D. Kote taluk

H.D. Kote: A man brutally murdered his wife and surrendered to the Police, at Kaniyanahundi village in H.D. Kote taluk in Mysuru district on Wednesday.

Tejaswini (26) is the victim, who was bludgeoned to death with a machete, by her husband Devaraj, at their farm house in the village. The couple has a five-year-old son and three-year-old daughter, who are now orphaned, for no fault of theirs.

Devaraj, a farmer, had married Tejaswini of Kutwadi village in Mysuru taluk eight years ago. Initially, the couple was leading a happy life, till Tejaswini allegedly developed an extra-marital affair with a youth from Aswalu village in Hunsur taluk.

This had led to frequent quarrelling among the couple and the Police and village elders had brokered truce among them.

The Police and village elders had also advised Tejaswini to mend her ways. On the other hand, the Police had enquired about whether Tejaswini is being harassed by her husband?

Tejaswini, who appeared to have changed her behaviour, had eloped with that youth recently. However, the Police had succeeded in tracing her on Tuesday and reuniting with her husband.

The couple entered into a wordy duel over the same old issue on Wednesday afternoon and in a fit of rage, Devaraj hacked his wife to death with a machete, it is said.

He later surrendered before the H.D. Kote Police.

The body was shifted to the mortuary of H.D. Kote Government Hospital. The Police are investigating the case.
