Man injured in elephant attack

Nanjangud: A 55-year-old man sustained injuries when a wild elephant attacked him near Mahadevanagar in Hediyala Forest Range coming under Bandipur National Park, last night.

The injured has been identified as Venkatabovi of Mahadevanagar, who was walking towards his field at about 9 pm when a tusker attacked him and threw him to a distance, seriously injuring him.

Villagers who heard his screams, informed the forest personnel, who rushed him to  Vivekananda Hospital in Sargur, from where he was shifted to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru this morning, it is learnt.
