Man kills wife

Srirangapatna: A man has allegedly murdered his wife at Alagodu village in the taluk on Wednesday night. 

While the deceased woman has been identified as  Rashmi (36), the accused husband is Ramesh. 

Rashmi and Ramesh were married for 12 years and were leading a happy life until Ramesh began to suspect her fidelity leading to frequent fights between the couple. Family and village elders had intervened many times and had advised them, but still, the couple indulged in frequent quarrels, it is learnt. 

On Wednesday night, a fight reportedly broke out between the couple and Ramesh in a fit of rage allegedly hit Rashmi’s head with an iron rod resulting in Rashmi’s death on the spot. 

Mandya SP Dr. V.J. Shobha Rani, DySP Krishnakumar, Police Inspector Vivekananda and others visited the spot.  

Arakere Police, who have registered a case, have launched a hunt to nab accused Ramesh, who is at large.
