Mandya: In view of continuous increase in the number of Corona positive cases and deaths, the District Administration of Mandya has ordered a complete lockdown in district for four days in a week with immediate effect.

People will be allowed to do shopping of essentials only three days a week. 

Permission has been denied to hold marriages from May 24-29 to avoid crowding of people. However, on May 27, only Government activities are permitted from 6 am to 10 am.

Disclosing this at a news conference here on Saturday, Deputy Commissioner Aswathi said on May 25, 26, 28 and 29, all shops except medical services, medical shops, milk booths will remain closed and citizens are not permitted to come out to buy essentials.

On May 23, 24 and 27, people are permitted to buy essentials between 6 am and 10 am.

However, all agriculture activities related shops are permitted to open from 6 am to 6 pm.

The godown, Fair Price Shops and industrial-related activities that have been given permission, are allowed to open from 6 am to 10 am. The movement of goods vehicles is allowed.

The DC has warned of filing cases against those who  flout rules.
