Mandya: As part of Kannada Rajyotsava celebration, a ‘Mandya Marathon’ was organised in association with Kayakayogi Foundation, Stay-fit Gym, Mandya Press Club and Kannada Organisations to spread COVID awareness among people, from 100 ft. Road to Bevinahalli in Mandya recently.

More than 356 participants were part of Marathon from all over the State. Mandya SP N. Yathish inaugurated the Marathon while athletes trainer Mani was the judge for the event.

Winners: 5-km Race – Male: Shivaji (Bengaluru) – 1st prize; Naveen (Mysuru) – 2nd; Lakshmisha (Mysuru) – 3rd.

5-km – Female: Tejaswini (T. Narasipur)- 1st; Chaitra (T. Narasipur) – 2nd; Usha (Mysuru) – 3rd.

Senior Citizen – Female: S.G. Vijaya; Male – Y.K. Puttaswamy (Mandya) and Balachandra (Melapura).

The first three prize winners in 5-km race in both men and women category were awarded Rs. 11,111, Rs. 7,777 and Rs. 5,555 respectively while senior citizen winners were presented attractive prizes.

Prize distribution was held at Mandya Press Club today.
