Many public toilets awaiting inauguration

July 8, 2018

Sir,

Apropos the news item warning the general public not to urinate in public, it is laudable that the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has and is being constructed/constructing public toilets.

Though the intentions are very clear and appreciable, still there are a number of toilets already constructed that have not been inaugurated at all. For instance, there is a public toilet constructed two years ago at Krishnamurthypuram which is yet to be opened for reasons best known to the Corporation authorities.

I being  a regular commuter on this road, have seen people urinating on the walls of this toilet. Will the MCC take necessary steps to start using this toilet and maintain it properly?

Apart from this one case, there may be several toilets constructed and not put into use. Steps may be taken to put into use such toilets also.
