MCC contract drivers demand clearance of rent

December 11, 2018

Mysuru:  Demanding to clear wages for drivers and rent for the vehicles hired by them, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) contract vehicle drives staged protest in front of the MCC yesterday.

They accused that they have not been paid rent since three months for the vehicles used by the MCC. They said that the MCC has hired several private vehicles through a tender process for the use of officials.

The drivers alleged that the contractor has not paid them rent for the vehicles used for the last three months.

They accused that contractor, who bid the tender for their vehicles, threatened to get their contract cancelled and to hire new vehicles if they persist to clear the rent.

The drivers threatened to stay away from duty if the rent is not paid on time by the MCC.

On learning about the protest, MCC Commissioner K.H. Jagadeesha rushed to the agitating spot and assured to look into their demands.
