MCC Health Inspector assaulted while seizing banned plastic

Mysuru: A MCC Health Inspector, who was carrying out raids and seizing the banned plastic glasses and carry bags, was assaulted by the staff of a Pansari Shop in Ward No. 26 on Friday last.

The MCC Health Inspector, who was assaulted, is Ashwath.

On Oct.25 at about 8.30 am, Ashwath and staff were conducting raids on shops storing and selling the banned plastic items.

When they raided the Pansari Shop, they found the banned plastic glasses and carry bags and proceeded to seize them during which Saifulla Khan, staff of the Pansari Shop, assaulted Health Inspector Ashwath.

The Health Inspector has lodged a complaint at Mandi Police Station stating that Saifulla had assaulted him besides preventing a Government servant from performing his duties.

Mandi Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
