Two held for trying to sell owls

Hunsur: The Forest Mobile Squad has arrested two persons on charges of processing owls and attempting to sell them at Kothegala in the taluk.

The arrested are Suresh and Subramanya of Kothegala. The Forest Mobile Squad personnel have rescued two owls from them.

Acting on a tip off, Ravishankar and staff of the Mobile Squad, who went to the spot in the pretext of buying the owls, arrested the two. The case was transferred to Hunsur Regional Forest Division and the accused were handed over following which RFO Sandeep registered a case, conducted an enquiry and produced the accused before a Court, which remanded them to judicial custody.
