Mysore/Mysuru: Cattle and pig rearers in Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) limits and outskirts, are letting loose their cows and pigs on the roads and public places causing severe traffic hurdles, sometimes even ending up with fatal accidents.
The stray cattle and pigs have been crowding over the waste accumulated in the dustbins, while eating them, also causing environmental pollution. Apart from affecting public health, it will also spoil the hygienic environment. Despite issuing a warning on the back of a lengthy discussion, the pigs are still being let loose in public places.
It is imperative to restrain pigs in public places. Hence, a final warning is being issued to pig owners to tether their livestock including cows and pigs in their respective sheds, within one week from issuing the notification (Nov. 2). If the animals are found straying out in public places and roads, action will be taken to rein in them without any prior notice to its owners, according to a press release from Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner.
