Mysuru: Residents of  Kesare heaving a sigh of relief have commended the decision of MCC in shifting the existing slaughter house from Kesare to a far flung area about 1.5 km off Ring Road.

Addressing a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here this morning, former MLA Maruthi Rao Pawar, who had spearheaded the campaign to get the slaughter house shifted, expressed happiness over the decision of the MCC.

He further said that a meeting has been organised tomorrow at 5.30 pm at Ganapathy Temple near R.S. Naidu Nagar bus stand to celebrate the MCC’s decision. He recalled that the struggle to get the slaughter house shifted lasted for five years.

He added that the MCC Health Standing Committee on repeated inspections finally decided to recommend the shifting of the slaughter house.
