Mega Hanuma Jayanti procession at Hunsur on Dec. 4

Hunsur: With the mega Hanuma Jayanti procession scheduled to take place at Hunsur on Dec. 4, Mysuru SP N. Vishnuvardhana held a peace meeting in Hunsur Town Police Station on Tuesday.

Addressing the meeting, the SP said that Hunsur is a town of peace lovers. Pointing out that the Government has issued certain guidelines on maintaining law and order during Hanuma Jayanti celebration,the SP sought the co-operation of everybody.

“DJ music is strictly banned during the procession. Instead, the organisers are suggested to use folk troupes and artists. Also, there is a possibility of misuse of social media for creating disturbances and spreading fake news, which the citizens should be aware of and be alert. Also, the organisers should see that banners and buntings are removed after the celebration,” the SP said adding that steps will be taken for ensuring peace and harmony.

Hunsur Taluk Hanumantotsava Samiti President V.N. Das said that Hanuma Jayanti celebrations will be held at Hunsur for 3-days from Dec. 2. Pointing out that the celebrations will formally begin with Hanuma Pratishtapane on Dec. 2, he said that cultural  programmes will be held on Dec. 3 and the celebrations will culminate with the mega procession on Dec. 4.

“The procession will commence from Ranganatha Extension at 11 am on Dec. 4 and will pass through Kalkunike Circle, Shabariprasad Circle, Old Bridge, Samvidhana Circle, S.J. Road, H.D. Kote Circle, JLB-Bazar Road, New Bus Stand and Kalpataru Circle to reach Anjaneyaswamy Temple in the evening,” Das said.

Tahsildar J. Manjunath, former Hunsur CMC members Krishnaraj Gupta, Syed Younus, Sagar and others took part in the meeting.
