April 18, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: While most Mysureans are confined in their houses following enforcement of lockdown, miscreants burgled two Nandini Milk Booths and cash from two hundis at a temple on Apr. 16 night.

In the first incident, miscreants, who gained entry into a Nandini Milk booth near Kanakadasa Circle in Dattagalli, have made away with about Rs. 2,000 cash kept in the cash box. Kuvempunagar Police conducted mahazar and have registered a case.

In the second case, burglars, who entered Uma Maheshwari Temple behind CITB Kalyana Mantapa in Hebbal 2nd Stage by breaking open the door lock, decamped with cash from two hundies that were offered by the devotees.

In the third case, miscreants have decamped with Rs. 4,000 cash from the cash box of a Milk Booth located on the corner of CITB Kalyana Mantapa Main Road. The theft came to light yesterday morning, when Meenamma, the owner of the milk booth came to open the booth and found the shutters of the booth forcibly opened. On inspecting the milk booth, Meenamma found Rs. 4,000 kept in the cash box stolen.

Hebbal Police conducted mahazar and registered cases. It may be recalled that on Thursday, seven currency notes of Rs. 100 denomination was found on the road behind the CITB Kalyana Mantapa in Hebbal 2nd Stage, creating panic among the residents. Hebbal Police, who had rushed to the spot, took the currency notes into their custody and took up an investigation
