MIMS Security Supervisor attempts suicide

Consumes pesticide, admitted to District Hospital

Mandya: A 38-year-old man, who is working as a Security Supervisor at Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS), allegedly attempted suicide by consuming pesticides yesterday.

The Security Supervisor is Panchalingegowda, a resident of Ankanadoddi in the taluk and is said to be working as the Security Supervisor at MIMS since five years. He had consumed pesticides near Gopalapura in Central Police Station limits and had taken ill. Passersby, who saw him writhing in pain, rushed him to the District Hospital where he is being treated.

The jurisdictional Police, who visited the hospital, were unable to record statements from Panchalingegowda as he is unconscious but have recorded the statements of the doctors treating him.  No complaint has been lodged so far.
