Bengaluru: In an indirect message to Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, Kannada and Culture Minster C.T. Ravi, who is recently appointed as BJP National General Secretary, said that the party has an unwritten rule that party leaders aged above 75 years cannot be in a position of power.
Replying to a query by press persons whether he would continue to be in the Cabinet as he has been appointed as the Party’s National General Secretary, Ravi said that no leader can hold on to power after attaining 75 years of age and there is an unwritten rule in the party in this regard.
Pointing out that he is currently a Minister in the Yediyurappa Cabinet, Ravi said that he will quit as the Minister if the party High Command asks him to do so.
Maintaining that those who do not follow the party’s guidelines cannot continue to be in power, Ravi asserted that every leader should stick on to the party’s policy of one person one post and being a Minister he would abide by whatever the decision the party top brass takes.
