Minister takes DRM to task

May 29, 2019

Mysuru: Tourism Minister S.R. Mahesh, upset with the Railway authorities for continuing the development work of the Mysuru City Railway Station in spite of him asking to stop the work, took DRM Aparna Garg to task.

When Mahesh spoke to the media he said that heritage norms had been violated.

In the light of this, a meeting was held at the DRM’s Office. When I had earlier inspected, I had asked the work to be stopped till the DC comes and inspects the works. Even then you have continued with the work. Besides, instead of conserving this building you are doing expansion work and violating heritage norms, he told Aparna Garg in a caustic tone.

The DRM, who stood her ground, it is said, shot back at Mahesh and said that even though he had come twice and inspected the building, why he did not object to it then.
