Minister Umashree falls ill during protest

Kannada and Culture Minister Umashree fell ill while protesting against the demonetisation of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 currency notes at Hungund here yesterday. Umashree, who participated in the protest march from Basava Mantapa to Mahantesh Circle, vomited as soon as she sat on the dais.

Later, she was rushed to taluk hospital where she was treated by Taluk Medical Officer Dr. Kusuma Magi. Speaking to reporters, DHO Dr. Rajkumar Yargal said that Umashree was exhausted due to continuous travel and scorching heat and added that she would be fine after a couple of day’s rest.
