Minor girl allegedly raped by maternal uncle

Mysuru:  A minor girl has been allegedly raped by her maternal uncle in Lakshmipuram Police limits on Monday and the Police have launched a hunt to nab the accused, who has gone absconding.

The accused has been identified as 23-year-old Ramesh, a resident of Saraswathipuram, who had allegedly raped the 17-year-old daughter of his sister.

Ramesh, who took the girl in the pretext of dropping her to the college, took her to a deserted place, where he raped her and fled from the place, according to the complaint lodged by the girl’s parents.

Lakshmipuram Inspector Mahadevashetty, who has registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, has launched a hunt to nab the absconding accused. The minor girl was sent for medical examination and the Police are investigating.
