Misappropriation of Rs.14 lakh from ‘Tulabhara’ service: Nanjangud Temple Store Assistant suspended

Mysuru:  Close on the heels of suspension of a Priest Srinivas at Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hill for allegedly collecting money before being put in ‘Hundi,’ a Store Room Assistant of Sri Najundeshwara Temple in Nanjangud has been suspended for allegedly misappropriating Rs.14 lakh collected through ‘Tulabhara’ service.

The accused is Abhishek, who was also an Assistant for ‘Tulabhara’ Service. Additional DC T. Yogesh, who is also the Temple Administrative officer, issued the order for suspension on Friday.

During the audit of 2016-17 it was learnt that Rs.14 lakh collected through ‘Tulabhara’ service had been misappropriated which came to light about ten days ago. Confirming that Abhishek was behind the crime he was suspended. Yogesh has asked Temple Executive Officer Kumaraswamy to lodge a complaint on misappropriation of money with Nanjangud Police.
