Miscreants con elderly woman of gold chain in Nanjangud

September 15, 2017

Nanjangud: Three miscreants have conned an elderly woman of her gold chain here this morning.

The woman who was conned has been identified as 65-year-old Nagamma of the town.

Nagamma was walking towards Housing Board Colony 2nd cross at about 8.30 am today, when three persons (two on bike and the other walking behind her) approached her and told her that a gold chain was snatched in the morning and the Police were conducting a search.

The three persons who asked her to be cautious, told her to remove her gold chain weighing about 90 grams and keep it carefully besides offering paper to wrap it. Nagamma, who removed her gold chain, gave it to the miscreants, who wrapped it with paper and handed it over to her.

After the trio left, Nagamma opened the paper only to find a chain of a different design and on closely examining it, she came to know it was fake.

Nanjangud Rural Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
