Attempt to snatch gold chain at K.R. Mohalla foiled

Mysore/Mysuru: In separate incidents, miscreants have made away with a bike of a youth after threatening him atop Chamundi Hill last evening, while an attempt was made to snatch a gold chain from a woman at K.R. Mohalla in the night and the scooter-borne miscreants escaped leaving behind the scooter after the public chased them.

In the first incident, miscreants, who waylaid a youth riding a Hero Honda bike atop Chamundi Hill by ramming into his bike and making him fall, threatened him and fled with his bike at about 6.30 pm at the hill.

Based on the complaint by the youth, KR Inspector Sunil Kumar, who has registered a case, is investigating.

In the second incident, scooter-borne miscreants, who tried to snatch a gold chain from a woman on Naala Street at K.R. Mohalla at about 7.30 pm yesterday, had to flee leaving behind their scooter after the public chased them.

The woman was standing in front of her house when two miscreants on a Honda Dio bike attempted to snatch her gold chain. As the woman held on to her gold chain, the miscreants had to abandon their plan and run away from the spot.

Members of the public, who saw the incident, tried to chase and catch the miscreants on their vehicles, but the miscreants abandoned the scooter near Sanskrit Patashala Circle and fled on foot. K.R. Police, who rushed to the spot, seized the scooter and have launched a hunt to nab the miscreants.
