Mysuru: Nearly 400 youth from the surrounding villages of Yelwal had gathered at the auditorium in the Yelwal Bus Stand to attend the Job Mela organised by Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana and District Kaushalya Abhivrudhi Nigama yesterday.
The companies that were present to recruit the aspirants with a minimum qualification of SSLC, PUC, ITI and Diploma were HBS, Eureka Forbes, J.K. Tyres to name a few.
The registration began at 9 am and both boys and girls in search of jobs were found queuing up.
MLA G.T. Devegowda (GTD), who inaugurated the job fair, said: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi on finding the need for jobs among the youth, set up the ‘Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana’ to identify the youth and see that they get jobs or are provided skills through skill development. It is sad to see that in spite of the youth being educated, they are not getting proper jobs and job fairs like this will help them secure jobs.”
According to GTD, those who do not get jobs at the day-long fair, can still register their names and they will get opportunities in other job fairs to be conducted in other parts of the State.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana Manager G.S. Vinay, BJP leaders Hemanth Kumar Gowda, Anil Kumar Gowda and others were present on the occasion.
